Falcon 2000EX EASy Awarded FAA Type Certificate
(Mérignac, France, June 22, 2004) Dassault Falcon celebrated another milestone in the roll out of their new, advanced flight deck with EASA approval last week and receipt today of FAA certification for the Falcon 2000EX EASy.
"This marks the second successful application of the EASy flight deck." said Jean-Louis Cuvillier, 2000EX, Vice President of New Falcon Aircraft Programs. "The new, Dassault inspired technologies behind the highly intuitive EASy system vastly improve crew situational awareness and safety."
The new EASy flight deck made its debut late last year on Dassault's flagship 4500 nm Falcon 900EX. In the past year and a half, the 2000EX EASy test aircraft flew 143 flights, accumulating 335 flight hours. "We are especially pleased with the excellent reliability exhibited by the software." said Patrick Darses, head of the engineering flight test group. "I must also give credit to the Honeywell team for their dedication to our needs and critical schedules." Honeywell supplies the hardware for the flight deck including four 14 inch Primus Epic screens.
Dassault Falcon President and CEO John Rosanvallon praised the engineering and flight test teams for a job well done. "With such strong market demand for the Falcon 2000EX EASy, we are pleased that the test program went so well." said Rosanvallon. "It's a tribute to both their professionalism and passion for their work."
Introduction of the non EASy equipped Falcon 2000EX took place in March last year where it met all key performance goals, and even beat its predicted balanced field length [BFL] by five percent! The 2000EX and it's sibling the Falcon 2000, are best-selling, large-cabin business jets in use in corporate and fractional program use.
The Falcon 2000EX has a nonstop capability of 3800 nm (6 passengers, NBAA IFR reserves, .80 Mach). It can fly westbound nonstop flights from Paris or London to the east coast of the United States, even into stiff winter headwinds; or eastbound flights to Europe from major Midwestern cities like Detroit, Chicago and Minneapolis. Other headwind legs like Dubai to London and Sao Paulo to Miami are also achievable nonstop.
15 Falcon 2000EX EASy aircraft are now in various stages of completion at the Little Rock Completion Center. Customer deliveries will begin almost immediately.
