ORTEMS the leading provider of advanced planning and scheduling (APS) solutions, optimizes the Supply Chain of Laboratoires Chemineau by securing its Master Planning and Scheduling (MPS). Context Laboratoires Chemineau are the European specialists for the contract manufacture of aerosols, semi–liquid and liquid pharmaceutical products. The company gathers 300 employees and 120 customers with a turnover amounting 59 M€. Laboratoires Chemineau have been in a continuous upswing over the past 10 years, they primarily work on demand through a portfolio of 350 finished products conceived on one of their 17 mixers and packaged on one of their 27 lines. The cornerstone of such growth has been joined by an overhaul of internal processes with two main strategic goals: • Increase the customer service rate • Decrease the occupancy rate of their shops (components and finished products) Pursuant to the decision of implementing forecasting as part of their planning process, the need for a finite capacity scheduling tool became critical to realize an MPS with 4 months visibility, and an accurate planning optimizing capacity, load balancing and resources optimization. The company also wished to complement its existing ERP Sage X3 in order to optimize its scheduling performances. In the light of this decision, Laboratoires Chemineau issued a request for proposals to the major players of the APS market. Laboratoires Chemineau have chosen ORTEMS for its strong expertize in the pharmaceutical field and its experience of successful project management with Sage ERP X3.
