Aéroports de Paris welcomes the news of TAV Airports'successful bid for Milas-Bodrum Airport concession in Turkey
Aéroports de Paris, main shareholder of TAV Airports with 38% of the capital, has hailed the successful bid by its Turkish partner for the 20-year Milas-Bodrum Airport concession. As a result of an auction process, TAV Airports won the concession to operate and maintain the two terminals (domestic and international) of Milas-Bodrum Airport in return of a total accumulated rents on concession duration of €717 million (plus VAT).
Milas-Bodrum is the fourteenth airport in the portfolio of TAV Airports, which already manages three of the largest airports in Turkey (Istanbul Atatürk, Ankara and Izmir) and others majors airports in several countries (including Georgia, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Macedonia and Croatia).
Located by the Aegean Sea and serving a very popular tourist area in Turkey, Milas-Bodrum Airport has seen over 3.6 million passengers passed through last year including 1.9 million of international passengers.
Augustin de Romanet, Chairman and CEO of Aéroports de Paris:
"The victory by TAV Airports in this call for tender is very good news for our Turkish partner and for Aéroports de Paris. Milas-Bodrum Airport has a considerable development potential, particularly due to the dynamic tourism sector in the south-west of Turkey. Within the next ten years, Bodrum is set to become the country's fourth largest city.
This victory shows that the alliance with TAV Airports concluded in 2012 is generating value. Aéroports de Paris and TAV represent one of the top airport alliances in the world with a total of 175 million passengers welcomed in 2013.
We take full advantage of the synergies between our two groups, in particular when it comes to preparing a response to some international calls for tender".
