Clifford Chance advises Cathay Capital on the creation and fundraising of the Sino French (Midcap) Fund

International law firm Clifford Chance advised Cathay Capital Private Equity on the creation and fundraising of the Sino French (Midcap) Fund, which has made a first close of EUR 460 million with Bpifrance and China Development Bank up to EUR 100 million each, and alongside thirty other investors: international institutional investors, entrepreneurs and family offices.

With a first close announced on June 27th, this fund marks a new stage for the Sino-French relationship in the private equity. The Sino French (Midcap) Fund will invest in mid cap companies in France, China and Europe, more particularly in Germany in order to stimulate their international development.

Cathay Capital will manage this fund, also marketed under the name Cathay Midcap Growth Fund III, which should reach its target size of EUR 500 million within a few months.

Clifford Chance advised Cathay Capital on the structuring and fundraising of this fund with Xavier Comaills (partner), Tiana Rambatomanga (counsel) and Marie Préat.
