AIGLON acquires Biopress, historical ORGANIC producer of vegetable oils and soy proteins With this acquisition, Aiglon embarks on a policy of diversifying into vegetable oils. Organic regulation is coherent with Aiglons' quality strategy which consists of manufacturing and commercialising products that are healthy, pure, traceable and accredited. The aim is to develop Biopress in the food and cosmetics markets. The Aiglon group, based in Precy sur Oise near Chantilly, France, and directed by its founder, Jean-Jacques Puyoo, President and Chief Executive, is an independent family business, the only French specialist in the manufacturing of petroleum jellies, waxes, gels and oils. The most famous names in cosmetics and pharmaceutics are counted amongst its customers. 20% of Aiglons' turnover is from exporting to more than 20 countries in and outside of Europe. Its high technology and permanent research for innovation has earned Aiglon worldwide renown. Aiglon is the only petroleum jelly manufacturer GMP certified (Good Manufacturing Practice - certification with the most stringent requirements). The Aiglon Codex petroleum jellies are the purest in the world, situated above the principle market standards. Biopress exists since 1989. It is situated in Tonneins, Lot-et-Garonne (France); an area characterised over the last few years by one of the most important rates of development of organic food in France. Biopress is specialised in the production of first cold pressed, organic vegetable oils (particularly sunflower, rapeseed and soybean), and in the production of textured soy proteins, an innovative food with very interesting nutritional contributions, successfully used as a substitute for meat. Since 2011, Biopress features a very modern, almost entirely automated oil packaging unit, allowing the production of around 2000 bottles an hour. Biopress is also engaged in development and support projects for local organic farming by favouring short-distance supply chains with cooperative agreements, but also direct business with organic farmers in the south-west. The presidency is held by Philippe Conti, the right arm of Jean-Jacques Puyoo within the Aiglon Group. Gabriele Peruzzi retains the general direction of the company w Contact presse : Nicole Coiffard - Cordiane - 01 39 62 33 42 - ncoiffard@cordiane.com __________________________________________________________________________________________ Le groupe Aiglon est le spécialiste français de la fabrication de vaselines et de cires, gels, huiles et produits techniques.
