intelligence solutions, announced that Kurt Lauk was appointed as a
director of the company at today's shareholder meeting. The company's
board of directors intends to appoint Dr. Lauk to serve on the audit
committee of the Business Objects board.
In addition, Business Objects annual shareholder meeting adopted
the 2003 financial statements and all other items proposed by the
board of directors.
Dr. Lauk is currently president of Globe Capital Partners, an
investment and advisory firm he founded in 2000. From 1996 to 1999, he
served in various capacities at Daimler-Chrysler and the Mercedes-Benz
Group, including senior executive vice president -- commercial vehicle
division, and was a member of the chairman's integration council of
Daimler-Chrysler A.G. From 1992 to 1996, Dr. Lauk was senior executive
vice president of finance and controller at Veba A.G., and held a
similar position at Audi A.G. from 1989 to 1992. Previously, he served
in various capacities at the Boston Consulting Group, including
director of the Munich office and Vice President and Director of BCG,
Inc.
