Antalis strengthens its positions in the Nordic countries
Antalis has signed an agreement to acquire IGEPA's Papers distribution business in Sweden and Norway; the operation should close in the course of June.
This business will represent annual sales of approximately €10 million and will enable Antalis to consolidate its historical market positions in these two countries, to expand its customer product offering and bolster strategic partnerships with suppliers.
During H1 2018, Antalis also acquired the Swedish Packaging products distribution business of Alos which generates annual sales of around €6 million.
In the wake of the acquisitions completed since 2015 in Denmark, Sweden and Norway in the Packaging and Visual Communication sectors, this operation consolidates Antalis' positions in the Nordic countries.
Commenting on the acquisitions, Hervé Poncin, Chief Executive Officer of Antalis said: “we are continuing to seize external growth opportunities to consolidate our positions in the Papers sector in line with our strategy. Strengthening our footprint in our historical market is essential for continued growth in the high-potential and higher-margin Packaging and Visual Communication sectors in which the Group already generates 35% of its gross margin.”
Antalis (Euronext Paris : ANTA) is the leader in B2B distribution of Papers (number 1 worldwide outside the United States) and industrial Packaging, and number two in the distribution of Visual Communication media in Europe. In 2017, the Group reported sales of €2.4 billion and employed 5,500 people serving approximately 140,000 customers, companies and printers in 43 countries. Through its 123 distribution centres, Antalis makes more than 13,500 deliveries per day worldwide and it distributed 1.5 million tons of paper in 2017.
