ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)—7 Octobre 2004--IMERYS annonce une augmentation du prix de ses produits en kaolin et carbonate à destination de l'industrie papetière internationale à compter du 1er janvier 2005.
Le prix des pigments sera globalement revu à la hausse de 6% à 15% au sein de la gamme de produits en fonction de la catégorie.

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 7, 2004--IMERYS announces that the prices of its kaolin and carbonate products for the global paper industry will increase effective from 1st January 2005. Pigment prices will increase generally across the range of products depending on the grade between 6% and 15%.
These price increases will become effective January 1, 2005 or as contracts allow
Despite taking measures to continually improve process efficiencies and reduce overall material costs, there have been significant external increases to our cost base.
These increases are in the key areas of energy (mainly natural gas and electricity), chemicals, steel and metal impacting mining and processing equipment
In addition, there have been dramatic increases in supply chain costs related to increases in road, rail and short sea routes
Paul Woodward, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Imerys' global Pigments for Paper business group comments, "Despite continuous productivity efforts, we have not been able to offset the significant external increases to our cost base and must pass a portion of these costs onto the market.
